Tidy town: Colburn Town Council is to look at ways of persuading the public to keep the area tidier by not dropping litter. Richmondshire District Council environment unit is to be approached for advice on the best methods of education in litter awareness. Councillor Lyn Miller said the education of residents was a key issue and must be tackled as a priority.
Highways: Mouchel has completed a feasibility study into whether a mini-roundabout should be installed at the junction of Colburn Lane and Catterick Road. The town council will be informed of the outcome in due course.
Buses: North Yorkshire County Council confirmed it would raise the town council's concerns at lack of early morning Arriva buses to Richmond during the Christmas period. Discussions would be held with the bus company over the service for the 2003 festive period.
Gas covers: The clerk reported to Transco a number of loose and missing gas inspection covers on the Piper Hill open space, near Poppy Court.
Police: The police are to be contacted about groups of youths congregating behind Dene Close and the shops at night.
Next meeting: The town council meets again on April 10, at 6.15pm.
