Music festival: Egglescliffe School will host the Regional Festival of Music for Youth on Saturday and Sunday. Entry to the all-day event is free.
Red Noses: Pupils at Yarm School raised £1,200 for the Red Nose fund as part of their non-uniform day. Aidan House raised over £500 with a charity car wash and sponsored half-marathon.
Monet Mosaics: The Egglescliffe Community Centre's Ladies Section meets on alternate Thursday evenings at 7.45pm at the community centre, Durham Lane Eaglescliffe, for talks, demonstrations and social gatherings. The next meeting on April 3 is called Mosaics to Monet
Sixpence change: Centre Stage's next production was to be Half a Sixpence but that has been cancelled for legal reasons. Instead, the summer show will be Me and my Girl. The group needs male singers for the show. For details, call (01642) 782649.
Anniversary Service: To mark the 25th anniversary of Yarm School, the senior school, staff and board of governors will join invited guests at the Oakwood Centre, Eaglescliffe, on the last day of term, Friday April 4, for a service of comemoration led by the Bishop of Durham. Parents are invited to the 2pm service. Entry is by ticket only. Contact the school for details.
Lent lunches: The churches of Yarm and Eaglescliffe continue their Lent lunches in the New Room, Yarm Methodist Church, from 12.30 to 2pm, on the Thursdays of Lent, when those attending will look at the book Signs of your Kingdom, by Michael Perham, Dean of Derby. Take your own lunch.
Fashion Show: Pupils at Conyers School, in Yarm, are holding a fashion show at The Tall Trees on Tuesday, April 8, from 7pm, to help in their specialist school bid. Tickets, costing £5, are available from local shops or from the school on (01642) 783253.
Chamber music: The Yarm Preparatory School presents a chamber music concert in Yarm parish church on Tuesday, at 7pm. This is an opportunity for older and more advanced musicians to perform. The programme includes items from the choristers, senior choir, band, chamber orchestra and guitar trio.
Writers group: Yarm writers group meets fortnightly at Yarm library, in the High Street, and welcomes new members to read their own work or listen to other members' stories and poems. For details of the next meeting, call (01642) 391843
Joint service: Parishioners in Picton Worsall and Kirklevington villages will meet for a joint family service on Sunday at 10.30am in St Martin's parish church, Kirklevington.
Child minding: Ingleby Barwick and Thornaby childminding group provide childcare in a caring, homely environment for babies and children from birth and upward. For Ingleby Barwick contact Emma on (01642) 761817.
Over 50s: The Ingleby Barwick over 50s club meets every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm in the community hall, Haresfield Way.
Mothering Sunday: Yarm Methodists are celebrating Mothering Sunday with a service on Sunday at 10.30am.
