ACTORS have had a sneak preview of the scenery for their £75,000 production of a hit Broadway musical.
Staff at Scene Setters, in Tanfield Lea industrial estate, near Stanley, were commissioned to produce the backdrops for the West End Operatic Society's production of Annie Get Your Gun.
Fifteen of the cast got in character and donned their costumes for a trip to see the work in progress.
They also stopped at the South Causey Hotel and Equestrian Centre in nearby Beamish Burn Road, Stanley.
Hotel owner Jean Gibson allowed the society to use three of her horses for the filming of some scenes.
She also introduced the cast's youngest member, William Creswick, aged seven, who plays Little Jake in the show, to Jake the horse.
Annie Get Your Gun shows at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle, April 7 to April 12, at 7pm. Matinee performances are on the Thursday and Saturday, at 2pm. For details, call the box office on (08709) 055060.
