MUSEUM visitors are being invited to step back in time to see a familiar street in Anglo-Saxon times.
An exhibition by Durham University students entitled Saddler Street: An Anglo-Saxon Soap Opera, opened at the Old Fulling Museum of Archaeology, in Durham on Saturday.
It takes visitors on a journey through the city's past to find out what was happening in an episode of residents' lives.
A spokeswoman said: "We present a tale of life in this neighbourhood.
"Model the contemporary fashions and experience how Saddler Street then appeared. Encounter the dirty street life, and meet a bunch of cobblers."
The exhibition runs until June 30, and the museum is open from Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 3.30pm.
Admission costs £1, 50p for concessions, free to Durham University students.
