A Darlington athlete scooped four regional running prizes.

Julia Orr, 16, a pupil at Hummersknott School, began the cross-country season with her fifth consecutive victory in the Darlington schools cross country.

She then picked up gold in the North-Eastern Counties under-17 girls' championship and became the Durham county schools' intermediate girls' champion.

Finally, Julia won all four races in the Durham Pine North East Harrier league, picking up the junior girls' title.

The teenager also represented the North-East in the UK inter-counties championship, finishing in 15th place and was 18th in the English Schools cross country.
