POLICE are increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 57-year-old man who may be somewhere in North Yorkshire.

John Griffiths, originally from Rugby, Warwickshire, was reported missing from a care home in Rochdale last Thursday, where he was last seen at 11am.

Local officers suspect he may be in North Yorkshire, as he has made two withdrawals from cash machines in the Scarborough area since Thursday, April 3.

He is described as about 5ft 8in, slim, with brown to greying collar-length hair. He has a distinctive large moustache, large steel-rimmed glasses and walks with a limp.

He was last seen wearing a blue two-piece suit and brown shoes.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Griffiths, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to call police at Rochdale, on 0161-856 8522.
