A PENSIONER who died when the car she was travelling in collided with an articulated lorry parked in a lay-by on the A19 on Thursday, has been named.
Camilia Hunter, 73, from Millfield, Sunderland, was the passenger in a blue Vauxhall Corsa car driven by her husband, John, 78. Mr Hunter was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, with multiple injuries after the accident.Yesterday he was said to be in a stable condition.
The couple were travelling south on the A19 when the accident happened near Crathorne, at about 1pm. They were on their way to a caravan park near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and were towing a small camping trailer.
Witnesses to the accident or who saw the car before the crash is asked to call Sergeant Nick Walker, on (01642) 301580.
