SIX secondary school pupils have been chosen to receive an award for their contribution to the school and local community.
Year nine pupils Hayley Benett, Lauren Byrne, Nicola Cottle, Jemma Loughran, Rebecca Lowe and Elizabeth Traill, from Grangefield School in Stockton, were nominated for the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Award when they mentored a group of elderly people through a computer course.
The course lasted for ten weeks and each week the teenagers gave up their free time to stay behind after school and work with the group.
