A STOCKTON charity is celebrating after receiving an £8,878 Easter grant from the Lloyds TSB Foundation.
Stockton Blind People's Voice works to fight for equality of service for blind and visually impaired people in the town.
It also aims to improve quality of life and promote a greater understanding of blindness.
Services include a Braille for sighted people course, services such as talking books at Stockton Library, and promotional material and facilities at the Open Technology Centre in Stockton.
The funding will help with the transition from a small voluntary organisation to a larger one with paid staff, as well as enabling the group to buy the necessary computer equipment for a Braille embosser.
