HUNDREDS of Easter eggs are be handed out across Darlington to help make the holidays special for people in need and their families.
The Eggstravaganza appeal, run by Darlington Borough Council's social services department, has already collected hundreds of Easter eggs over the past two weeks.
The appeal, now in its third year, gives local people the chance to help others enjoy a better Easter.
The eggs will be distributed to individuals and families across the town, in the hospital and at St Teresa's Hospice.
Appeal co-ordinator Janet Robinson said: "Darlington people have once again shown how wonderfully generous they are.
"The small gift of an egg to someone living on their own or a needy child will make a world of difference.
"Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this year's Eggstravaganza."
