Letters have been sent to more that 11,000 homes in Darlington as part of a survey that will help Darlington Borough Council develop housing, planning and community care policies.
The survey will also assess housing needs and the information will help the council prepare future bids to the Government for housing funding. Questionnaires should be returned to the town hall, (01325) 388531, has been set up to help anyone who needs more information.
CHILDCARE: The Funtime Childcare Centre, in Haughton, Darlington, has opened a branch in the town's Memorial Hospital.
PATH WORK: Resurfacing work on footpaths is under way in Darlington's North Road cemetery as part of a £150,000 programme of improvements. Stanhope Park and Sugar Hill Park are next in line for repairs.
DATE CHANGE: Crook Royal British Legion's next meeting has been brought forward to Monday, at 7.30pm, in Crook Cricket Club.
NEW STABLES: Plans to build a three-bay stable block and tack room at 3 Roundhill Farm, Hurworth, have been submitted to Darlington Borough Council.
MOBILITY CLUB: Spennymoor and District Mobility Club meets today, in the leisure centre, at 2pm.
CANINE EVENT: Bishop Auckland Scout Hall, in Kingsway, will host a charity dog show tomorrow, from 1pm, in aid of Guide Dogs For The Blind.
SPRING FAIR: The Salvation Army centre in Dundas Street, Spennymoor, will host a fair today, from 9.30am to 1pm.
LOCO GROUP: Dave Foxton, chairman of Weardale Railway Locomotive Preservation Group, thanked volunteers for running an open day at Wolsingham depot on March 30.
WORK LESSONS: More than 350 year six pupils from seven primary schools in Darlington attended a skills seminar organised by Fair Play North East. The day was funded by learn2work, the organisation working to give all five to 19-year-olds in Tees Valley the opportunity to get interesting and useful work experience.
EASTER EVENTS: Pool floats, magic lessons, boxercise and party discos are taking place at the Dolphin Centre, Darlington, over Easter. Sessions will be held between 10.15am and 12.15pm, from Monday to Friday, April 25. For details call (01325) 388406.
ROCK NIGHT: Accoustic rock soloist Dave Black will be performing at the Quaker House, Mechanics Yard, off High Row, Darlington, on Wednesday.
