YOUNG DJs took to the decks to play for charity this week.
Students from the BTEC National Certificate in Music Technology course at Gateshead College organised a three-hour dance at the college's Durham Road campus.
It was part of a fundraising effort by the World DJ Fund. Proceeds will go to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.
The charity provides music therapy for children and adults with special needs, and trains music therapists to help disabled and sick people.
Pauline Etkin, charity director, said: "We are extremely grateful to the dance music community for being so willing to help children and adults in need to benefit from the therapeutic use of music which Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy offers.
"It is particularly exciting that young people of the dance world are supporting a charity which enriches peoples' lives through music, especially as it is music that is central in clubs and in Nordoff-Robbins music therapy."
