MOTHER and daughter Julie and Naomi Tasker proved a bit of family rivalry can be a useful thing this week when they both gained their business qualifications.
Both students at Darlington College at Catterick, they received NVQs in business administration, Julie achieving Level three and Naomi Level two.
"When I realised Naomi had almost finished her work I started to panic," said mother Julie, 38, of Bridge Road, Brompton-on-Swale.
"It really spurred me on as I thought, I can't have her finishing before me."
Naomi, 18, is a modern apprentice who works for Pipeline Engineering, which is based in her home village.
"I must admit, mum did help me quite a bit, but then that pays me back for her using my make-up when she goes out."
With the qualifications under their belts they are now looking for another course to do at the college.
"We are both clerks but not typists so we might do an RSA course," said Julie, who works for Sodexho at Catterick Garrison.
