WORK is about to start on a £20,000 scheme to improve one of the main car parks in a seaside resort.
The 80-space Rocket House car park, in Seaton Carew, is to be resurfaced and relined as part of a Government-funded regeneration scheme.
Work is to begin on Monday, and will result in the temporary closure of the car park, which is at the rear of The Front, close to the bus station.
It is hoped it will be reopened for Easter.
The car park improvement scheme, which is being paid for by One NorthEast's Single Programme Funding, has been proposed by the Seaton Carew Renewal Advisory Group.
The group is advising on the development of a tourism strategy for Seaton Carew, which will go out to public consultation in May.
