OLDER people can discuss health concers at new village drop-in sessions.
Sessions will be held every Friday from 11am to 1pm at Wheatley Hill Community Centre in East Durham.
Residents can get advice from nurses and health visitors, receive general health checks, be weighed and have their blood pressure taken.
The sessions have been launched by the Easington Primary Care Trust.
"It is hoped that the project will benefit residents who may be unsure whether to see a GP about a particular health concern as well as those who are socially isolated or lonely to help empower them to take better care of their health,'' said Julie Englund, the trust's health promotion specialist for older people.
If further help is needed, they can be referred to their GP or other agencies.
Anyone who wishes to attend but has problems with transport can call the community centre on (01429) 820214.
