THE life of the generation of people born around 1900 - complete with two world wars, a great depression and huge advances in technology - has been depicted in a new exhibition.
The latest history display at Kirkleatham Museum near Redcar is called Our Community and follows the life of a girl born in 1900 through to 1950.
The exhibition also includes East Cleveland artist Joe Cole's Road To The Front drawings and paintings, vividly illustrating his experiences of the extreme conditions of war.
"We're using a lot of material that people have donated to us for the new history exhibition," said curator Alan Pearce.
"There are all sorts of interesting aspects like the fashions of the time and how people lived on the Home Front in the second war."
The exhibition is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am to 5pm.
The East Cleveland museum service is also hosting a programme of family learning activities throughout the summer season at both Kirkleatham Museum and the Margrove Heritage Centre, near Guisborough.
Places are limited on the activity days, which begin on Tuesday 5. For more details and to book a place call (01642) 479500.
