Northumbria Police have had 133 firearms and 817 rounds of ammunition surrendered in their area in the first two weeks of a national firearms amnesty, it was revealed last night.
Among the firearms handed in were a walking cane containing a .410 shotgun, a 9mm Luger made in 1936, and a flintlock shotgun.
