Vintage TV puppet Muffin The Mule is to make a comeback for his 60th birthday - and will be kicked into the modern era.
BBC chiefs have bought a new series based on the character, which is expected to be shown in the next three years.
In the new shows he will be animated rather than operated with strings and will live on an urban farm.
Muffin was first seen by TV audiences in October 1946 in the show For The Children.
Originally, the wooden puppet would dance as presenter Annette Mills played the piano but in the new show he will be seen talking to the other animals.
