SELF-made entrepreneur and former four-minute miler Brooks Mileson yesterday completed the acquisition of LAB Medical and Legal Services for his Albany RTA group, of Peterlee. A seven-figure sum was involved.
Mr Mileson had previously held 51 per cent of the shares in LAB, which last year won an award for the North-East's fastest growing medium-sized company.
The firm, which arranges about 4,000 medicals a month for people in non-fault accidents, saw its turnover to the end of December last year rise to £12.65m from about £10m, with a profits rise to £2.07m.
LAB will now merge with the Albany group as accident management specialists. "I've been trying to do a deal for a long time and I'm absolutely delighted," said Sunderland- born Mr Mileson
