FORMER North-East MP Mo Mowlam is Britain's most motivational political figure.
Labour's former MP for Redcar was more than twice as popular nationally than Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, according to a survey.
The survey of UK businesses was conducted to celebrate the launch of National Incentive and Motivation Week.
Dr Mowlam, former Northern Ireland Secretary, was chosen by 33 per cent of respondents, compared with 14 for Mr Blair and 12 per cent for Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe.
However, in the North-East, Mr Blair, MP for Sedgefield in County Durham, was deemed a more inspirational figure than Dr Mowlam.
Participants chose the person they found most motivational and inspiring from a list that included famous pop stars, sports figures, television and film personalities and business people.
Most motivational business personality was Virgin's Richard Branson by securing 57 per cent of the votes. Jamie Oliver (58 per cent) shone through for the most motivational chef, and top motivational stars were Robbie Williams (30 per cent) and Bob Geldof (15 per cent).
