The following cases were heard by South Durham magistrates, sitting in Darlington.
SOLDIER FINED: Darren Woods, 19, a soldier based at Helles Barracks, Catterick Garrison, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and being drunk and disorderly following an incident outside the Route 66 pub, in Darlington, on April 5. He was fined £100 for obstructing a police officer, £75 for being drunk and disorderly and told to pay £55 costs.
CHARGE denied: Wayne Evers, 26, of Tyne Crescent, Darlington denied being involved with another person and throwing a large piece of concrete at a bus filled with passengers, on January 21. His trial was set for May 20.
THREAT CHARGES: A 17-year-old youth from Darlington, Graham Hawley, 23, of Oxford Street, Darlington, Philip Kelly, 18, Philip Stanley Kelly, 38, Robert Welsh, 32, Robert Baines, 22, all of Hundens Lane, Darlington, appeared in court charged with using threatening or abusive behaviour on November 24. The case was adjourned until May 20.
CASE ADJOURNED: The case against Carol Brown, of Dur-ham Road, Darlington, was adjourned until May 13. She is accused of causing unnecessary suffering to a male child between January 1989 and July 1994, and unnecessary suffering to a female child between January 1989 and April 1998.
NEW DATE: John Kelly, 52, of Montrose Street, Darlington, will appear at South Durham Magistrates' Court on June 10 after his case was adjourned. He is accused of 18 counts of making indecent photographs of children between January 1, last year, and March this year. He was granted unconditional bail.
PLEAS ENTERED: Daniel Dodsworth, 18, of Spring Court, Darlington, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour on April 7, and not guilty to obstructing a police officer. The case was adjourned until May 23. He was bailed on condition he stayed at his home address and observed a curfew from 8pm to 8am.
COURT DATE: The case against Steven Wheatley, 42, of Bakewell Place, Newton Aycliffe, was adjourned until May 6. He is accused of indecently assaulting a male and possessing an indecent photograph of a child. He was granted conditional bail that he stayed at his home address.
DRIVING CHARGES: Clint McDowell, 31, of Greenbank Road, Darlington, will appear in court on October 29 for trial after his case was adjourned. He is accused of driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after an accident. He had previously pleaded not guilty to the offences.
CASE DISMISSED: The case against Anthony Teasdale, 58, of Wells Grove, Willington, Crook was dismissed. He was accused of driving a vehicle in Darlington without a licence.
COURT APPEARANCE: The case against Darren Lister, 21, of Stephenson Street, Ferryhill, and a 17-year-old from Darlington was adjourned until April 29. They are accused of using threatening or abusive behaviour. They were granted unconditional bail.
GUILTY PLEAS: A 17-year-old soldier, based at Catterick Garrison, has pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and being drunk and disorderly in Darlington on April 5. The case was sent to the youth court for sentencing on April 25.
