MICKLETON R'n'B Club has announced a major coup in securing a return visit from Kevin Montgomery and the Roadtrippers who played the club to much acclaim in January.
As well as Nashville-born lead singer Montgomery, the band again features Robert Reynolds and Paul Deakin of the Mavericks on bass and drums, together with steel guitar legend Al Perkins. Carter Wood, who was well received at the January gig, returns as support act.
The club is delighted that the band has chosen to add Mickleton Village Hall as the final date of its UK summer tour on Saturday, June 28 - the only North-East venue on a hectic schedule.
Tickets are £10 in advance, and as usual the evening features a bar. Doors open at 8pm. For details and bookings, call John Carrington on 01833 640077.
The club hosts another sell-out show on Saturday, April 26, when it welcomes rock and roll pianist, Mike Sanchez, and his band, plus support act, solo blues guitarist Jet Martin.
Sanchez plays Mickleton as his final show before leaving on a world tour, fronting ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman's band the Rhythm Kings next month. The Mickleton event is sold out, but Mr Carrington said it is worth phoning for any returns.
