ARTISTS have let their imaginations run wild for an exhibition of textiles.
Visitors to Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre, in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, can view the displays of garments and sculptures made from innovative and unusual materials.
With body sculptures dressed in grease-proof paper and handbags made from recycled material, there is something to interest everyone in the Posh Togs exhibition.
Artist Jane Saunders created her masterpiece England's Glory, allowing the Union flag costume to tell its own story.
"England's Glory explores how the Union Jack has changed from being a symbol of patriotism to one that has negative connotations," said Damian Woodford, the centre's information officer.
"Various parts of the costume highlight popular and frivolous uses of the flag - such as the plastic bowlers - and the weathered, burnt appearance of the material suggests a more disturbing aspect.
"The artists have created the most fabulous garments."
He added: "I'd encourage everyone to come along to take a look - and a feel."
The centre, in Bond End, is open every day, between 10am and 4pm.
