ONE of Darlington's top young rugby teams has received a fresh boost from a sponsorship deal with the town's Lingfield Point business complex.

The £1,000 boost has already seen Darlington Mowden Park's under-14s buy 20 brand new shirts, boasting the Lingfield Point logo, and the money has also gone towards a new set of training tops.

And now the club has been able to buy raincoats, again sporting the sponsor's logo, to help keep the players smart and uniformed in all weathers.

Coach Steve Bailey said: "This is the third set of kit we have been able to buy from the money kindly donated in sponsorship by Lingfield Point.

"The estate and its management are obviously aware of the need for people and businesses to get behind grassroots sport in the area, and we are very grateful for their support."

Eddie Humphries, estates manager at Lingfield Point, added: "Young sporting hopefuls need all the help they can get if they are to become the stars of tomorrow - and it doesn't hurt for the players to look good while they are developing their skills."
