A SCHOOL secretary, retiring after 32 years, is handing over her job to her daughter.
Dorothy Phillips, 63, has left Corporation Road Infant School, where she started as an auxiliary in 1971. She became school secretary two years later and has stayed in the post ever since.
Talking about her time at Corporation Road, Mrs Phillips said: "I have enjoyed myself immensely, I couldn't have asked for a better job or a nicer group of people to work with. I am overwhelmed by the many gifts, cards, presents, flowers and things the children have made for me. I have seen many changes along the way and now see the children of past pupils coming through the school which is amazing."
Mrs Philips will be handing over the reins to her daughter, Judith Hall, who has been school secretary at Corporation Road Nursery for ten years.
In her retirement, Mrs Phillips will be enjoying walking as well as ballroom and rock and roll dancing, and spending more time with her grandchildren, Christopher and Rebecca.
