CHILDREN asked to design a car of the future showed some real imagination.
The teenage designers from Richmond School had the environment in mind when they suggested dust or even cheese could replace petrol and diesel.
The competition was organised by Richmond Motor Company to mark the launch of the new Nissan Micra.
Children from years seven to nine took part, with the winners each receiving a £50 prize. The winners were: Andrew Thomas and Nichola Hammond. The year nine prize was awarded to Rhiannan Buttrey and Nicola Vane.
The runners-up in each age group were awarded £30 and £15. The school's art department also received a cheque for £200.
The designs can be viewed at Richmond Motor Company's showrooms, in Dundas Street, until Tuesday.
