A DOG called Misty is looking for a home.
The two-year-old has been cared for by the National Animal Sanctuary Support League (NASSL), at Sadberge, near Darlington, for six months.
Now she needs a home with someone who is used to dogs.
Pauline Wilson, of NASSL, said: "She is very shy and so she needs someone who is very experienced with dogs.
"She is fine with us but gets very timid when there are new people about. I am sure if someone could give her enough time and attention she would develop into a great pet."
Misty, who is a collie-cross, is micro-chipped and has been vaccinated.
Anyone interested in taking her in is asked to call (01325) 321855 or (07748) 268822.
