PLANS are being finalised for activities taking place at a County Durham tourist attraction over the Easter weekend.
Re-enactment group the Northumbrians will be at Binchester Roman Fort, near Bishop Auckland, showing what life was like in Roman times and after.
On Easter Monday, as well as staging fighting displays, they will demonstrate how the Romans tackled everyday chores such as bone-working, cooking, spinning and weaving.
There will be other activities throughout the weekend, including making mosaics and Roman games.
Binchester was once the largest Roman fort in the county and boasts the best-preserved military bath house in Britain.
It stood guard over Dere Street, once the main highway linking York to Corbridge and Scotland, and is signposted from the A690, the A688 and Bishop Auckland town centre.
Opening times are 11am to 5pm all weekend.
