CHURCH APPOINTMENTS: Richard Ward and Owen Evans were re-elected as churchwardens at the annual meeting of Worsall church.
Lady Margaret Sutherland was thanked for her long service in support of the church. Geoff Barnet had helped produce the parish news and continued working on building maintenance. The Reverend David Wise has been appointed priest in charge of Kirklevington, Worsall and Picton, and will take up his post once a house had been bought, following the sale of Kirklevington vicarage.

PHOTO EXHIBITION: An exhibition of digital photography runs at Preston Hall Museum, Eaglescliffe, until Saturday, May 17. The exhibition is open from 10am to 5.30pm (last admission at 4.45pm) and admission is £1.20 for adults with children, 60p concessions, under-fives free.
EASTER FUN: An Easter fun day in aid of the Butterwick Children's Hospice will be held at the community centre and green in Haresfield Way, Ingleby Barwick, from noon to 3pm on Saturday. There will be stalls, a bouncy castle, disco and karaoke competition, and admission is free. The day has been organised by the churches of Ingleby Barwick and the Church Army Bus Project.
MASTSREFUSED: Hutchison 3G is to seek informal appeals after its applications to erect mobile phone masts in Sober Hall Avenue and Barwick Way, Ingelby Barwick, were refused. VILLAGE HALL: Worsall Village Hall trustees have reported that a replacement hall, built on the present site is the only option. Local people with relevant knowledge, experience in fundraising or other practical skills are asked to contact the village hall management committee.
