POLICE in Spennymoor are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault in the town.
The incident involved two women who were allegedly involved in a scuffle outside St Charles Primary School, in Durham Road, Spennymoor, at about 9.40am on Monday, April 7. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Ross Brewster on (01325) 314401.

DEMO DAY: Durham County Federation of Women's Institutes has organised a day of cookery and embroidery demonstrations at West Auckland Memorial Hall on Monday, April 28, starting at 10am. Entry costs £10 and includes coffee and a light lunch.
CHURCH EVENT: A nearly-new sale will be held in St Edmund's Church, Sedgefield, on Wednesday, April 30, and on Thursday, May 1.
PATRIOTIC WALK: A St George's Day walk on Wednesday starts at Crook library, at 9.45am. A competition will take place for under-sevens and eight to 12-year-olds. Free tickets are available from Crook library.
STORY TIME: Woodhouse Close Library, in Bishop Auckland, will hold a free Easter storytelling and activity session from 2pm to 2.45pm next Thursday.
FAIR DISCO: In preparation for Sedgefield Medieval Fair on Saturday, May 17, a Flower Queen disco will be held in Sedgefield County Primary School, Rectory Row, on Saturday, May 3, from 7pm to 9pm, for girls aged 11 and under.
MILLIONAIRES NIGHT: Sedgefield Parish Hall will host a Millionaires Night on Friday, May 9, when the hall will be turned into a mock casino.
