CHILDREN at a North-East nursery let their imaginations run wild for an Easter egg competition this week.
It was the first time that the House of Eden Nursery, in Rushyford, County Durham, had staged a contest of this kind.
The competition was split into six categories, including parents and staff, and there were prizes for the top two in each.
Organiser Sharon Foster said: "We got a lot more entries than I thought we would.
"I thought we might get the odd one or two, but the parents have spent a lot of time helping their children and everyone's put a lot of work in."
Competition judge Andrew White, a Northern Echo journalist, said: "It was really difficult to pick a winner because the standard of entries was so high."
The winners were: Up to two years: 1 - John Grey, 2 - Christopher Ellwood
Two to three years: 1 - Chloe O'Brien, 2 - Millie Tezcan-Fotoohi.
Three to four years: 1 - Ellie Stevens, 2 - Caitlin Bell.
Four to eight years: 1 - Ruby Knapton, 2 - Jacob Fleming. Parents: 1 - Mr Storey, 2 - Mr Munroe.
Staff: 1 - Karen Thompson, 2 - Lindsey Etherington.
