HEAD chef Andrew Pearson decided to give a fundraising drive for Middlesbrough's Teesside Hospice a boost by having his bald head decorated like an Easter egg.
The Cleveland Centre, also in Middlesbrough, is celebrating Easter with fun activities to keep the family entertained while raising money for the hospice. It is holding a week-long fundraising fair during the school holidays.
The paste egg painting competition is one of the highlights of the two-week Easter campaign.
The decorated boiled eggs should be clearly labelled and taken to the information point in the shopping centre.
The best eggs will be chosen by radio presenter Stewart McFarlane during a BBC Radio Cleveland Easter broadcast at the centre on Saturday, between 9am and 12pm.
He will also commentate on a shoppers' egg-and-spoon race and read Easter messages from shoppers and listeners who e-mail their Easter greetings. Festivities begin on Saturday with a recital by Opera Nova at 12.30pm.
