YOUNG swimmers took time out from the pool to pack bags for shoppers and raise money for their club.
The team, from Wear Valley Swimming Club, spent the day at Morrisons in Bishop Auckland helping busy shoppers with their Easter purchases.
Club secretary Audrey Rolfe said the proceeds from the day would help the youngsters combat the costs of swimming.
She said: "It does cost quite a lot of money once you get into the club.
"Parents are pulling out for things all the time. This is why we try to do things like this to try and save them money.
"We are doing this as a team and this shows that we are a growing force and will continue to work hard as a team.
"We have been well supported today by both parents and shoppers and we would like to thank them for their help.''
The club has swimmers aged from six to 60 and meets at Woodhouse Leisure Centre, Bishop Auckland; Glenholme, Crook and Wolsingham School.
