SOME of the region's football stars will line up for a charity match next weekend.
A Sunderland Football Club and Darlington Football Club Select team will face a guest team.
The match will be played at Durham City Football Club next Sunday.
Players appearing include Peter Beardsley, Kevin Ball, Mick Horswill, John Beresford, Dave Hodgson, Craig Liddle, Dean Windass, Mick Tait, Stan Cummins, Billy Hardy and Vic Halom.
Familiar characters from television soap operas Coronation Street and Brookside are also expected to take part.
Players from Sunderland, Newcastle, Middlebrough, Hartlepool and Darlington football clubs will be signing autographs.
All money raised from the game, and other activities on the day, will be donated to the Stroke and Dysphasic Support Fund.
There will also be children's entertainment, a car boot sale, raffles and tombolas, amusements, a Century Radio roadshow and refreshments.
Events start at 12.30pm and the match kicks off 4pm.
Tickets for the game, which has been organised by Sporting Legends, cost £5 for adults, £2.50 for children or £12 for a family ticket for four. They are available from the stadium.
