AN OUTDOOR garden and entertainment centre has opened in Middlesbrough.
Youngsters treated guests attending the opening of the £15,000 project to songs by pop group Steps.
The performance was given by two members of the Newport Settlement's Youth Club after the rest of the band suffered stage fright.
The garden, which has transformed a previously unused area, is off St Paul's Road.
Youth worker Liz Amer said: "This is an exciting project which has involved the young people in developing a very useful outdoor area. Lots of hard work went into transforming the site and we are looking forward to using it for relaxation, performing and socialising."
