A Northern Echo reader has earned herself a crust after coming up with a winning name for a guide dog puppy sponsored by bakers Warburtons.
Margaret Liddle, of Ushaw Moor, County Durham, has won a month's supply of bread and a soft toy puppy after suggesting the kennel name Dough-nut for the puppy.
Earlier this year, Warburtons raised £2,500 to help support Dough-nut through her first year of training with The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Every year thousands of visually impaired people are assisted by the association.
The charity also provides dog training and care, and supports ophthalmic research and other rehabilitation services.
"We all loved the name Dough-nut for the Warburtons guide dog puppy.
"As the charity receives no funding for its services, we know the contribution made by Warburtons and other organisations is vital to its success," said Angie Turnbull, from the Warburtons' bakery in Newburn, Newcastle.
