VISITORS to a tourist attraction are being given a chance to discover the history of water supplies this weekend.
The Tees Cottage Pumping Station, in Darlington, opens its doors to the public tomorrow and Easter Monday to take people back to the days when the town relied on wells and rainwater tubs.
Anyone visiting the site, in Coniscliffe Road, will be able to explore the 25-ton, 1904 beam engine, the 1926 pump house, a miniature steam railway and restoration work.
The attraction is open from 11am to 5pm each day. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children and OAPs.
