STAFF at a North-East factory have raised more than £1,500 to help a mother get lifesaving medical treatment in the US.
Workers at the Electrolux Outdoor Products headquarters, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, have held an Orange Nose Day to raise money for the Ann Teasdale Appeal.
Ms Teasdale, from Newton Aycliffe, needs treatment for a rare condition called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome.
She has had to have one leg amputated, and fundraising has allowed her to travel for treatment in Texas.
The Northern Echo has backed the appeal to raise enough money for her trip and the treatment.
So far, more than £20,000 has been collected.
More than 500 workers at the plant took part.
They were asked to make a donation before choosing an orange nose to wear for the day.
Other workers were asked to donate to the appeal before being allowed to attend meetings.
Andrew Mackay, from Electrolux, said: "As always, everyone got into the spirit of the day, so much so that wearing orange noses almost began to look normal.
"Most importantly, however, everyone contributed generously to raise vital funding for this very worthwhile cause."
