A Newcastle cab driver has scooped more than £14m on the National Lottery.
Bob Frazer, 58, of Heaton, Newcastle, clinched the eighth largest jackpot in the National Lottery's history after a four month long rollover.
Bob had just finished his daily night shift as a cabbie on Sunday morning when he went to check his numbers -- and was delighted to find he had scooped £14,265,140.
"I felt my eyes glaze over and kept shaking my head, trying to focus on the Teletext page to double check I had got it right," said Bob.
"I then saw that only one person had won the jackpot but I still couldn't believe it was me!"
Bob, who has been a cabbie for 20 years and lives with his wife in a four-bed home in Heaton, Newcastle, said he was now planning to buy a top of the range Mercedes with the cash.
He will also fulfill a long-held ambition to sell-up and move to the Spanish coastline.
Said Bob: "This really is a dream come true for us. We have often spoken about what we would do if we won the Lottery and we always hoped to move to Spain.
"This win has made it all possible and so much more."
Mr Frazer bought his winning ticket from his local Morrisons store and the winning numbers were the regular ones he has used every Saturday and Wednesday since the Lotto and Lotto Extra were launched.
It is the third highest Lotto Extra win. The highest was in May 2001, a £20 million guaranteed jackpot, while £15.5 million was won in November 2001. .
