CHILDREN have been urged to get on their bikes and raise money for Leukaemia Research.
It is the third time children will be riding their bikes and tricycles as part of the bikeathon, organised by BBC television's Blue Peter programme.
Organiser Judith Brown said: "There's nearly 100 events across the UK. It's really inspiring that so many children are coming together to fight a disease that affects hundreds of children each year.
"Durham children should register as soon as possible to get their entry packs."
The Durham Blue Peter Bikeathon will take place at Houghall College, on Sunday, May 4. The event starts at 11am.
Last year, children raised more than £500,000 towards research into leukaemia, which accounts for more then 50 per cent of all childhood cancers.
