Darlington Spraire Lasses
THE Under-12s have qualified for the five-a-side National Association of Clubs for Young People finals.
Spraire won two games, beating Consett 3-1 and Blaydon 7-0 while they drew 0-0 against both Boldon and Lumley. Katie McTague scored five goals with four from Laura Gowling and one from Jordan Atkinson while Brogan Mountain starred in goal, conceding only once in the four games. Emma Ratcliffe, Helen McTague and Lauren Claxton also starred for the Lasses.
The girls now travel to Derby on May 17 to play in the National championships.
Both the Under-14s and Under-19s received the Fair Play Award for their sportsmanship throughout.
Under-14s: Chloe Atkinson, Laura Mather, Katherine Ratcliffe, Rebecca Boyd, Kathryn Clarke, Danni Shutt, Holly McCabe and Lindsey.
Under-19s: Gemma Sanders, Rebecca Moses, one goal Katy McLaren, Tina Masterman two goals, Rachel Davies and Joanne Newbould.
