A TAXI driver who scooped £14.2m on the National Lottery last night urged the son he last saw six years ago to get in touch - and promised to make him a millionaire too.

Bob Frazer, from Newcastle, lost contact with his son, Alan, but believes he is living in Manchester.

"I love him to bits. I'd love to see him, he'll be a millionaire," said the 58-year-old, who won last Saturday's £14,265,140 Lotto Extra jackpot - the eighth largest single win in the National Lottery's history.

Rob and wife Dorothy, 51, are now planning to start a new life in Spain.

"This really is a dream come true for us. We have often spoken about what we would do if we won the Lottery and we always hoped of moving to Spain.

"This win has made it all possible and so much more," he said.

The couple, who own a four-bedroomed former council house, now plan to fly to Spain in the next couple of days to start looking for a villa near Benidorm.

They will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in September, by which time they hope to be settled abroad.

Bob, who has been working nights as a taxi driver for 20 years, said he also planned to swap his Mercedes Elegance for a top-of-the-range Mercedes Kompressor.

Describing the moment he realised he had won, he said: "I felt my eyes glaze over and I kept shaking my head, trying to focus on the Teletext page to double check I had got it right.

"I then saw that only one person had won the jackpot but I still couldn't believe it was me."

Explaining how he lost touch with his son, Bob said: "He would come to my house and it was quite all right, and then all of a sudden he stopped coming for some reason. We never had a fall out."

Bob added that his son was only six when his marriage to his first wife, Ann, a hairdresser who has now remarried, ended about 30 years ago.
