THE Mayor of Sedgefield Borough Council is hoping his two chosen charities will receive a lift thanks to the efforts of a Ferryhill man.
David Robson will make a giant leap on Saturday to raise funds for St Dunstan's and the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe, the two charities selected by Mayor Councillor David Newell.
While the mayor lends his support with his feet firmly on the ground, Mr Robson will give the charities a boost with a 3,000ft sponsored parachute jump at Peterlee Parachute Centre.
Mr Robson has supported the mayor's fundraising efforts several times in recent years.
He acted as his human guide while Coun Newell was blindfolded for a week for charity.
Fearless in his quest for charity funds, Mr Robson said: "I am really looking forward to doing the jump. It will be a never to be forgotten experience and I am delighted that I can also raise additional funds for the mayor's charities."
