POP music fans have been voting on-line for who they want to see in a music festival line up.

About 100 groups and singers will take part in the fourth Middlesbrough Music Live event on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26.

While Danish duo Junior Senior have confirmed they will be performing, organisers appealed on the official website for fans to suggest bands to play live.

As a result, British rockers Easyworld have been booked as one of the headliners of the Town Hall Crypt stage.

"We got hundreds of suggestions for some very diverse acts, but Easyworld were the most popular choice by a long way," said promoter Graham Ramsay, whose company Ten Feet Tall is booking acts for the festival in conjunction with Middlesbrough Council.

He said: "They've built up a big fan base in the North-East, and if their fans are dedicated enough to arrange an e-mail campaign then I think that's pretty laudable."

The three-piece band, from Eastbourne, played on the main stage of Music Live last year, and have also played live at Middlesbrough Empire's Saturday indie-rock night.

The festival will be spread over seven to eight stages set up across the town centre.

All age groups will be catered for, from the '50s bee-bop sounds of King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys, to rock and punk, top chart bands, underground acts and local talent.
