CELEBRATIONS will get under way in Heighington at the weekend to mark St George's Day.
A medieval tournament, a tug o'war and live entertainment are among the activities that will be held on the village green on Saturday afternoon.
A marquee will be erected for the evening entertainment, which will include performances by several local bands.
Visitors will also be dressing up in medieval costumes.
Buses have been organised to take people from Darlington to the village. They will leave from the Barron's Great Outdoors shop, north of Faverdale. The celebrations will begin at 1.30pm
