Crook and District
The club had three representatives at the London Marathon. Gery Hehir ran 5 minutes quicker than his PB by finishing in 3hrs 16mins 28 secs.; Colin Everson ran 3:17:20 and Martin Lowrie finished in 3:24:10. In the London mini-marathon over 2.8 miles Jennifer Partridge ran extremely well to finish second County Durham representative in the 15-17 age group in a time of 16.35.
Over at Grizedale Forest 10 mile trail race Mike Mallen finished fifth overall and first vet. in 62.06; Jeanette Sumler - Hutchinson 82.03 and Karen Partridge 84.12.
At the Shildon Stadium track event John Nunn reproduced his old form by coming second in the 800m in a superb time of 2:01.
Shildon
The club hosted the Anne Marie Readshaw Memorial Open track and field meeting at the Stadium 2000 on Sunday, April 13. The club had seven athletes missing who were representing Durham at the Mini Marathon at London. However, the ones who did compete provided some excellent performances.
U11 boys: 60m: 1 Jordan Roberts 9.90, Scott Thornton 10.70.
U11 girls: 60m: 7 Laura Hewitson 10.60.
U17 girls: 6th Catherine Turner 13.70; 10th Gemma Moran 14.30.
U17 boys: 100m, 5th Kris Stephenson 13.50.
Sen men: 100m, 5th Adam Rogers 12.60.
U17 girls: 200m, 4th Gemma Morgan 28.80.
Sen men: 200m, 5th Adam Rogers 26.60.
U11 girls: 600m, 6th Laura Hewitson 2:14.10.
U11 boys: 600m, 3rd Scott Thornton 2:04.6, 4th Jordan Roberts 2.04.6, 12th Jonathan Griffith 2.21.2, 17th Stephen Ferguson 2.40.7.
U13 girls: 800m, 6th Natasha Heslop 2.56.7.
U13 boys: 800m 1st Andrew Cummings 2.33.1.
U15 boys: 800m, 8th John Archer 2.32.5.
Sen men: 800m, 3rd Paul Best 2.07.1, 4th Stephen Brown 2.13.8, 5th David Best 2.18.0.
U17 boys: 3000m, 1st Matthew Lomax 9.22.1, 7th Matthew Hewitson 10.41.8, 9th Jalal Thompson 11.20.5.
Sen men: 3000m, 8th John Hewitson 11.53.7.
U11 boys: long jump, 1st Jordan Roberts 3.46m.
