A MAN pleaded guilty at Darlington Magistrates' Court yesterday to damaging a greenhouse.
Phillip McFarland, 18, of Cotherstone Drive, Darlington admitted causing the damage on March 21
The court heard that the owner of the greenhouse was looking out of her window at 3pm when she saw three males in her garden throwing bricks at the greenhouse.
When spoken to by police McFarland admitted the offence, but said he only threw one object, although the court heard three panes of glass were broken.
In defence, the court heard that McFarland had been in a neighbouring garden with friends when he threw a stone at one of them, who ducked and the greenhouse was hit.
McFarland was fined £50.
Stephen Wilkinson, 19, of Hewitson Road, Darlington, and a 17-year-old youth, who can not be named, denied the offence.
The cases against them were adjourned until May 27.
