Tyne Tees Girls Youth League - Under-12s, St Francis 2000 3 v 2 M'brough FITC: This was a game of end to end football played in good spirit, and was also a credit to girls football. The hosts played excellent football, and their performances over the season have got better.

This game could have gone either way with both sides missing chances, but it was the home side that ran out eventuall winners with goals coming from Sarah Rowbotham (2), and girl of the match Natasha Collins. Middlesbrough's goals came from their player of the match Becky Stephenson.

Norton & Stock. 1 v 3 Marton Girls

Both teams got off to a great start, producing some good football, this remained level after the end of the first two periods of play. At the start of the third period Marton found a second wind, with several great shots but Norton held on, before Marton hit the net to score their first from a goalmouth scramble. Norton picked themselves up and replied with a goal from Emily Wilson, which was closely followed by a second for Marton. The final period started with Norton still in the game and they tried to find the equaliser but it was not to be as Marton scored their third. Marton's goals came from Stephanie Chisman (2) and Samantha Conroy with player of the match going to Rebecca Robinson for the visitors and Rebecca Hole for the home side.

Barnard Castle 3 v 3 Stock. West End

Both teams of girls were up for this game and from the whistle it was none-stop action end-to-end. The first period saw the visitors score first, only to see the home side reply within a couple of minutes with a goal from their player of the match Stephanie Hutchinson who went on to notch a hat-trick. The second period saw several probing attacks from both sides without any goals. With the pressure building in the third period it was the visitors who found the net first only to see the home side reply with virtually the next move of the game. With the scores level at the start of the final period of the game this was the setting for a nail-biting final period. Stockton netted first and yet again Barny equalised within a couple of minutes. The rest of the period saw attacks at both ends with neither team unable to break the deadlock. Stockton's goals were scored by Vicki Hutchinson (2) and Rebecca Moore with their player of the match being Rebekah Jennings.

Birtley Town 1 v 5 Low Fell Juniors

Both sides were hoping to come out winners of this match with both sides being evenly matched. It was the visitors who started the better quickly scoring two goals. Birtley came back in the second period of play with a goal from Laura Lines who was also awarded player of the match at the end of the game. Low Fell then worked harder and this paid off with three more goals. The visitors' goals came from Ashleigh Ord (2), Charlotte Walton (2) and one from Lorna Breeze, with Morgan Armstrong being awarded player of the match.

Under-13s

Boldon 6 v 2 Norton & Stockton

Norton visited Boldon and set out to impress from the start, a much improved side from last year they gave as good as they got in the first period of play, with the only goals coming from Joanne Moncur after the Norton went ahead. The second period saw Michaela Carter bag three of her four goals in a five minute spell. Jane Riddell was also unlucky on a couple of occassions with the Norton keeper handling well and thwarting the Boldon attack. Rachel Jamieson was awarded player of the match for the visitors having foiled a number of Boldon attacks. Jane Riddell was awarded player of the match for the home side and was rewarded with a goal in the third period of play. Norton's goals came from Lauren Wild- Moore and Hayley Pratt.

Under-14s

Marton 4 v 1 St. Francis 2000 FC

Marton began without their usual keeper but the two girls who played in goal for a half each, Rebecca Hanratty and Rachel Horsely, both pulled off a great save each. Marton took the lead through Anna Mawson who followed in after the St. Francis keeper had made a good save. The visitors the equalised through Helen McCamley who was awarded player of the match for the visitors. The second half began with a quick goal for Marton coming from their player of the match Anna Mawson who scored her third as the game progressed. Marton's fourth came from a spectacular long range shot by Scarlett Crowe.

Boldon 9 v 3 Spraire Lasses

Boldon opened the scoring in this game with two quick goals coming from Joanne Moncur and Michaela Carter. Darlington then maintained a good spell of pressure, pinning Boldon back into their own half, thouroughly deserving the goal to bring them back into the game. This woke Boldon who scored through Helen Wilcox, Rachel Raine and a further two for Michaela Carter before half time. After the break it was the visitors who had the better of the play scoring through their player of the match Dannii Schutt. Boldon then took the offensive with Moncur adding her second and a further two goals for Carter who was also awarded player of the match. Darlington's third goal was scored by K Brabbs.

Forest Hall 0 v 16 Blyth Town

This game was dominated by a much stronger and experienced Blyth side. Goals were scored by Rachel Lee (4), Helen McManus (4), Carolann Hughes (3) and one each for Jessica Havelock, Amanda Turnbull, Danny Baker, Lyndsay Fletcher and player of the match Ashley Bates. Player of the match for Forest Hall went to Sarah Bennett.

* Sunday, April 27 sees the Under-14s and Under-18s cup finals played at Horden Colliery Welfare ground with the first game kicking off at 11am. The second game at 1pm and the third game at 3pm.
