A SCHOOL secretary, retiring after 32 years, is handing over her job to her daughter.
Dorothy Phillips, 63, started at Corporation Road Infant School, Darlington, as an auxiliary in 1971. Two years later she was school secretary.
Mrs Phillips said: "I have enjoyed myself immensely, I couldn't have asked for a better job or a nicer group of people to work with. I am overwhelmed by the many gifts, cards, presents, flowers and things the children have made for me. I have seen many changes along the way and now see the children of past pupils coming through the school which is amazing."
Mrs Phillips will hand over to her daughter Judith Hall who has been secretary at Corporation Road Nursery for ten years.
Mrs Phillips will now be able to find more time to enjoy walking, ballroom and rock and roll dancing and spending more time with her grandchildren.
