A MAN was arrested after an off-duty policewoman saw three people snorting lines of cocaine in a Darlington pub.
The policewoman was in The Red Lion, in Priestgate, at 7.40pm on Wednesday, when she saw three people taking drugs in the main bar, in full view of other customers.
She reported what she had seen to the police station and plain clothes and uniformed officers were called to the pub.
The three people were searched and a 24-year-old man was found to be in possession of an illegal drug.
He admitted it was cocaine and was arrested, taken to Darlington police station and later released on bail.
The drug has been sent for analysis.
A police spokesman said no action would be taken against the licensee of The Red Lion following the incident.
